Mission
Biosensing is a university start-up with exclusive international expertise in biochemistry, biomedicine and clinical diagnostics.
Biosensing can therefore combine technologies and methodologies stemming from research on biosensors with management experience, to conceive, develop, engineer and certify a new generation of rapid analytical and diagnostic devices to be launched on the market.
Access to resources and facilities at “Sapienza” University of Rome allows Biosensing to speed up and optimize laboratory research, analytical and clinical performance evaluation, certifications, and public outreach activities on new technologies.

Technology
Our detection technology integrates state-of-the-art biosensors and a digital platform for data management.

IMMUNOSENSORS
IMMUNOSENSORS
We make electrochemical immunosensors by modifying gold or graphite screen-printed electrodes (SPEs), the latter by pre-applying gold-coated magnetic nanoparticles. The material is functionalized and activated for anchoring marker-specific antibodies on the sensor surface. The electrode returns a current drop that is proportional to the marker concentration in the sample, which can thus be determined.

DIGITAL PLATFORM
DIGITAL PLATFORM
The devices can transfer measured data into digital format, so that it is available to professional users, including medical doctors, nurses, technicians and pharmacists. Biosensing is validating an integrated digital platform, also available in iOS and Android environments, that relies on blockchain technology to protect, certify and track sensitive information.

ISO 13485:2016
Biosensing has implemented an ISO 13485:2016 certified Quality Management System for the design, development and optimisation of in vitro medical devices. Compliance with international regulatory requirements ensures the highest quality and safety standards for continuous improvement of internal processes and end-user satisfaction.
