Mission
Biosensing is a university start-up with exclusive international expertise in biochemistry, biomedicine and clinical diagnostics.
Biosensing can therefore combine technologies and methodologies stemming from research on biosensors with management experience, to conceive, develop, engineer and certify a new generation of rapid diagnostic devices to be launched on the market.
Access to resources and facilities at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" allows Biosensing to speed up and optimize laboratory research, the conduct of clinical studies, certifications, and public outreach activities on new diagnostic technologies.

AREAS OF INTERVENTION
Our experimental and industrial research activities suit the determination of markers in distinct areas of interest:
CLINICAL DIAGNOSTICS
FOOD QUALITY AND SAFETY
VETERINARY DIAGNOSTICS
ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING

TECHNOLOGY
Our detection technology integrates state-of-the-art biosensors and a digital platform for data management.
BIOSENSORS
BIOSENSORS
We make electrochemical immunosensors by modifying graphite screen-printed electrodes (SPEs) with gold-coated magnetic nanoparticles. With such configuration, the nanomaterial is functionalized and activated for anchoring marker-specific antibodies on the sensor surface. The electrode returns a current drop that is proportional to the marker concentration in the sample, which can thus be determined.

DIGITAL PLATFORM
DIGITAL PLATFORM
The devices can transfer measured data into digital format, so that it is available to end users. Biosensing is validating an integrated digital platform, also available in iOS and Android environments, for patients, doctors, analytical laboratories, hospitals and pharmacies. This platform relies on blockchain technology to protect, certify and track sensitive information.
